The Huntsman | Bedroom

I designed this room with my son in mind, hence the "G" decor.  :)  We waited to find out the gender of our baby, so for his baby room {here}, although super neutral and still having masculine feel to it because of its "old west" theme, I didn't have the option to go all out boy with the decor...

So...I dreamt up a room for him that was even more boy!  I'm not ready to re-do it yet, seeing that he just got here!  We will save this idea for the future once he grows into a twin bed. (See bottom of post for crib ideas!)  These images were in mind as I was designing {here} and {here}, and I also used my Colonial Frontier {pin board} for inspiration.

My guilty pleasure has been watching the show "Once Upon A Time" (no spoilers please - I'm only just finishing season 2 on Netflix).  I just started watching it a few weeks ago, and have been going through it so fast!  This room is named The Huntsman since the original painting of a wolf on wood panel {4} reminded me of that character.  It is by artist Miriam Pakbaz, whom I just discovered two weekends ago at CAST (Capitol Artists Studio Tour) where tons of Art Studios are open for two straight weekends in Sacramento!  I am so glad to have discovered Miriam and just fell in love with her works!!

Below is a gallery wall, what I would imagine would hang above the dresser.  I left a few of the same items, so it still had the same overall feeling.  I recycled some of the decor from my sons current room {18}, {19}, {21},  and {22}.  It's fun to give it a different feeling!

If you are looking to turn this into a baby room, here are a few crib options {Millbrook}, {Jenny Lind}, and {Marcelle}.

Abstract | Bedroom

A bold and bright nursery this week!  The whole nursery is themed around the abstract painting, "Navy Geo" by Britt Bass Turner.  I love her paintings!!!  Check out her work {here}.  I brought the colors of the painting out into the room: hot pink, turquoise, black and gold.  This room is much simpler than many of my others, containing very few objects, but it still has a whole lot of style!  When I imagined this room, I was designing for a small space.
