Tangled | Girls Bedroom

Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair!

I have been wanting to create a Disney/Pixar Tangled inspired Style Board for a long time...

AND here it is!!!

This movie just delights me in so many ways:
1.  It reminds me of being a young artist filled with vivacity, inspiration, and whimsical childhood dreams.
2.  The main character, Rapunzel, is a dopperganger for my blond haired, sing-song-y, artistic, renaissance woman, pseudo-genius college roommate.
3.  I mean, really, who wouldn't want to have a room of bright cherry hand-painted murals?
4.  It's homage to the masterful talents of Disney-Pixar filmmakers.
5.  AND of course, because of the GENIUS behind the small but mighty side-kick chameleon, Pascal!!!

BRAVO Disney/Pixar!

Hope you enjoy this one as much as I do!

Dressage Dreams | Toddler Bedroom

This room could be used for a boy
or a girl!  The yellow even things out
a bit allowing for a more neutral room.

The inspiration for this board was the
organic horse plushie {2}, horse fine art {1},
and bold striped throw pillows {6}!

About the Artist | Edgar Degas

I had the change to see Degas work in person
at the Musee d'Orse in France and I was so
taken with the originals, each masterfully created
and the colors so unusual and vivid!  The unusual
compositions seemed so spontaneous, dreamlike
in movement and color that I never could have
imagined that they were so meticulously created.
But as I think back, the amount of detail in some
of the works truly show Degas careful planning.

He had it all: vision, passion, grounding, and even
spontaneity.  No wonder he is recognized as a true master!

If you have the chance to see Degas in person,
I highly recommend it!

Colonial Meets Degas | Living Room & Play Space

I LOVE LOVE LOVE how this turned out!!!

I have many favorite impressionists,
one of which is Edgar Degas.  Degas raw
sketches complimented this design perfectly!
For this board I wanted an old meets simple, stark,
and modern design so I utilized natural wood
and raw rustic decor.  The result: a very simple
and pleasing palette.

Matt & I are going to try and make this
room a reality in our own home!!! (minus the
play area of course)  It will take some time
however, as everything, as you know, is expensive.
But that's one of the best ways to implement
interior design; as your budget allows!

If you want more check out these items:

This coffee table would be a fabulous addition: {coffee table}

As would this accent chair: {leather chair}

Absolutely LOVE the Broyhill Credenza
Dresser {14} - wouldn't it make a gorgeous media console?!

Next up, painting the brick fireplace...

PS.  Next week I am planning to post an
"About the Artist" for Degas, so stay tuned &
happy decorating!

Little Sailor | Toddler Bedroom

Sweet and serene, you can almost smell
the sea air!  This room could easily accommodate
two kids, add this crib to make it a shared space.

I have to admit, I'm a little bit on a white wall
kick at the moment - guess that makes it easy
for those of you with all white walls.

I've got a great Living Room/Family Room
coming up soon, one that I think we want
to implement in our own home - so be sure
to check back next week for more design fun!!

Satterlee's "Fogscape" Series is AMAZING!  I especially LOVE

Bon Appetite - Free Download

My diet is not an easy one, there are no boxes of snacks at the ready nor easy meals out. Hence, I have been learning to cook & prepare every meal: breakfasts, lunches & dinners.  Recently I was craving  pancakes - I began with Millet & Coconut Flour as my substitutes - no matter what I tried:  a pinch more baking soda... another egg? ...how about more flour - nope, still no luck!  It was a total disaster that left my tummy rumbling... after that and many more experiences like it, I feel I can relate to this quote by Julia Child.

Hope you enjoy it too!

. . . .

This artwork is a clue as to what's coming up next!

AND

It's a FREEBIE - Download by right clicking, then enlarge to get the fullest size!
Format is 8 x 10 so it will fit nicely into any ready made frame.

Enjoy &
Bon Appetite!

Oh Deer | Living Room / Play Room

A fusion of "Young Buck" and "Little Doe"
led me to create this Living Room - it also doubles
as a Play Room for Children.

Who says you need a whole room for each area?
If you are short on space, combining the two
might just be the right thing to do!

Today's Featured Artist is Photographer, Katya Horner,
